11th World Filtration Congress in Graz, Austria in April 2012. The Organising Committee has given considerable thought into making detailed plans that we trust will meet with your approval and appeal widely to all concerned with filtration and separation technology. The Austrian Chemical Society has a long tradition in cosponsoring WFC’s and considerable experience in organising major national and inter na tional events. Further more the Austrian Committee can rely upon an excellent and internationally accepted open minded scientific community and reliable industrial partners. The long established fair City of Graz has been selected as it meets all the requirements for a successful WFC in every way. It is ideally located to welcome delegates from all parts of East and Western Europe and indeed the entire world. With its long tradition of holding trade fairs and conferences the modern and charming City of Graz with its long and noble history is fore most in providing first class facilities to hold a WFC and excellent possibilities for visitor accommodation. In Graz, a Unesco World Heritage Site, the Mediterranean atmosphere of the Old Town, the striking modern architecture and the great cultural diversity together create a unique and fascinating mix.
As Graz is located in a valley surrounded by mountains, with the river Mur flowing through the heart of the City you will enjoy its mild spring climate. In 2003 the City of Graz was Europe’s Cultural Capital and it offers delegates and visitors alike a unique experience in art, culture and history in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It is also ideally situated to offer interesting technical site visits within short dis tances. The new international airport Graz-Thalerhof with its domestic and international flights is located only 10km from the new Congress Venue. The Central Railway Station has both Austrian and international connections with fast and frequent services to the Capital Vienna. The motorways offer easy transit to all parts of Austria and surrounding countries. Austria has not so far been privileged to host a World Filtration Congress but we trust that you will read our proposals and allow us to have the opportunity of organising a memorable WFC for the world wide F & S community and have the pleasure of inviting you to Graz in 2012.
